MassIO MassIO
Bespoke software and specialist resourcing

Software engineered to your requirements, and the specialists to deliver it.

MassIO is a United Kingdom software company operating across two related disciplines. We design and deliver bespoke business systems, including mobile and desktop applications, CRM platforms and system integrations. We also provide experienced software specialists to organisations that require additional capability within their own teams.

Capabilities

What we deliver

Mobile applications

Native iOS and Android development, or cross-platform delivery where it is demonstrably appropriate. Field operations, customer-facing applications and internal tools required to function without connectivity.

Desktop applications

macOS and Windows software for work that belongs on a workstation: substantial data volumes, connected hardware, offline operation, or interface requirements a browser cannot satisfy.

CRM platforms

Sales and service systems structured around your commercial process rather than a vendor's template. Developed from first principles, or an existing platform extended until it meets the requirement.

System integration

The interface between systems not designed to work together: APIs, middleware, ETL pipelines, data migration, and the reconciliation that demonstrates nothing was lost in transfer.

Web platforms and cloud

Portals, dashboards and internal platforms, deployed to the environment that suits the organisation: your cloud, ours, or existing hosting arrangements.

Data and automation

Reporting that withstands scrutiny, and the automation of recurring manual processes currently performed between systems by hand.

Delivery

A five-stage delivery process

An iterative model applied consistently: defined stages, working software at the conclusion of each, and full visibility for the client throughout.

  1. Discovery

The process is documented before the system is designed. Written requirements, an agreed scope and a defined standard of completion.

  2. Design

Architecture, data model and interface, approved before development begins. Revising a design is inexpensive; revising a build is not.

  3. Development

Short iterations, each concluding in working software available to the client in a review environment.

  4. Verification

Automated testing, formal user acceptance with your own staff, and performance and security review prior to release.

  5. Support

Handover of source code, documentation and deployment pipeline, followed by a support arrangement scaled to requirement.

Why MassIO

How we differ

Complete ownership transfers to you

Source code, build pipeline, documentation and infrastructure. No residual licence to MassIO, and no dependency on a platform the client did not select.

Continuity from first meeting to delivery

No pre-sales function passing a project to colleagues the client has not met. The engineers present at the outset remain on the work.

Technology selected on merit

We hold no commercial allegiance to a particular framework. The technology is chosen for the requirement, the client's existing estate and the team who will maintain it.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What kind of software does MassIO develop?

Systems that are not available off the shelf: mobile applications for iOS and Android, desktop applications for macOS and Windows, CRM platforms configured to an organisation's own commercial process, and the integrations that allow existing systems to exchange data reliably. Where a requirement can be specified, it can be delivered.

Can MassIO provide specialists to work within our own team?

Yes. Specialist resourcing accounts for approximately half of our activity. We place software professionals with client organisations on a contract basis, including system engineers, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics developers, .NET, Java and Python engineers, and data, integration, DevOps, QA and support specialists. We are not aligned to a single technology: the discipline and the level are specified by the client.

Do you act as a delivery partner or as an extension of our team?

Both models are available. Some clients transfer a requirement to us in full and receive a completed system. Others require a named specialist to work within their own team, under their own management, for a defined period. The commercial structure differs; the standard applied to the people does not.

Who owns the intellectual property in the software you develop?

The client does. Intellectual property in bespoke work transfers on payment, together with the source code, the build pipeline and the accompanying documentation. No system we deliver depends on a continuing licence from MassIO.

Where is MassIO based, and in which markets do you operate?

MassIO Limited is registered in England and Wales and is based in London. The majority of our clients are United Kingdom organisations. Specialists are engaged on site, on a hybrid basis or remotely, according to the requirements of the engagement.
