Experienced software specialists, working within your team.
Certain work is best performed inside the client organisation, under the client's management and on the client's systems. MassIO provides experienced software specialists to United Kingdom organisations on a contract basis, across whatever discipline the role requires. We are not an SAP practice or a .NET practice: the expertise required is defined by the client.
Disciplines we cover
The following is representative rather than exhaustive. Where a required specialism does not appear, it remains worth enquiring: our network extends beyond this page.
Infrastructure and operations
System engineers, cloud and platform engineers, DevOps and site reliability engineers, network and security specialists, Microsoft 365 and Azure administrators.
Enterprise platforms
SAP developers and functional consultants, Microsoft Dynamics 365 developers, Power Platform, Salesforce and HubSpot specialists, ERP integration engineers.
Software engineering
.NET and C#, Java, Python, PHP, Node.js and TypeScript engineers, React and Angular front-end developers, iOS and Android developers.
Data and analytics
Data engineers, database administrators, business intelligence and reporting developers, Power BI and SQL specialists, ETL and data warehouse engineers.
Integration and middleware
API and middleware engineers, integration architects, EDI and messaging specialists, data migration engineers.
Quality and delivery
QA and test automation engineers, business analysts, technical project managers, second and third line support specialists.
An individual specialist, a team, or a managed unit
An individual specialist
A single named professional, working within your team, reporting to your management and following your processes. The most common arrangement and, in most cases, the most effective.
A delivery team
Several specialists working jointly on one programme, comprising developers, quality assurance and analysis, while remaining within your governance and reporting structures.
A managed unit
Where the client prefers to hold the outcome rather than the day-to-day management, MassIO directs the team and reports against agreed deliverables.
From requirement to commencement
Requirement
Skills, seniority, location, duration and rate. Typically established in a single conversation.
Shortlist
A small number of genuinely suitable candidates, with documentation prepared for the role rather than produced by keyword search.
Client interview
The client interviews and the client decides. We present no candidate we would not interview ourselves.
Onboarding
Contracts, right-to-work and compliance checks, equipment and system access arranged in advance of the start date.
Ongoing administration
Weekly timesheets, client approval and invoicing against purchase order, with no reconciliation required at period end.
The administration is managed for you
Contract resourcing is straightforward to arrange and demanding to administer: late timesheets, invoices that do not reconcile to the purchase order, and approvals that cannot be located at audit. MassIO operates its own portal for precisely this purpose, and it is provided to clients as part of the service.
- Weekly timesheets submitted by the specialist and authorised by your manager
- Invoices generated solely from approved time, against your purchase order
- A complete history for every assignment, visible to both parties
- Right-to-work, IR35 status and contractual records retained and available for audit
Information required to begin
- The discipline and level of seniority required
- Whether the role is on site, hybrid or remote, and the location
- Anticipated duration and start date
- The day rate range under consideration
- The name of the interviewing manager
This is sufficient for a shortlist. Remaining detail can follow once there are candidates to discuss.
Frequently asked questions
Which specialisms can MassIO supply?
Any software discipline. System engineers, SAP developers and functional consultants, Microsoft Dynamics 365 developers, .NET, Java, Python, PHP and JavaScript engineers, mobile developers, data engineers, business intelligence and reporting specialists, integration and middleware engineers, DevOps and cloud engineers, QA and test automation engineers, business analysts and technical support specialists. We are deliberately not a single-specialism agency: the discipline is specified by the client.
Is this recruitment or contract resourcing?
Contract resourcing. The specialist is engaged through MassIO and works under the client's direction, on the client's project, within the client's team. There is no placement fee for an individual who then becomes the client's administrative responsibility.
How quickly can a specialist commence?
For established disciplines we typically present candidates within a few days and can commence within two to four weeks, subject to notice periods. Less common skill combinations require longer, and we state that at the outset rather than during the search.
Can specialists work remotely, or is attendance on site required?
On site, hybrid or fully remote, according to the requirements of the work and the client's own policies. For on-site engagements we ask that the location is confirmed early, as it materially affects the available field of candidates.
What happens if a specialist proves unsuitable?
The specialist is replaced. Every engagement includes an initial review period, and an individual who is not suited to the team does not remain in it. Prompt replacement is less costly to both parties than a prolonged accommodation.
How is time recorded and invoiced?
Through the MassIO portal. Specialists submit weekly timesheets, the client's approver authorises them, and invoices are generated from approved time against the client's purchase order. Invoiced time therefore always corresponds to time the client has approved.
Can a specialist transfer to permanent employment?
Yes, and this occurs regularly. Where an engagement is successful and both parties wish to make the arrangement permanent, we agree terms rather than obstruct the transfer.
