Phone

A telephone system that knows who is calling.

Overview

Phone is the telephony module of the Zone platform: a SIP telephone system that shares its records with the CRM. An inbound call opens the caller's record before it is answered, an outbound call is placed from that record, and call history and recordings are filed against the contact. It runs in the cloud or on the organisation's own premises, and can replace an existing PBX or work alongside it.

Questions

Questions about Phone

What kind of telephone system is Phone?

A SIP-based system, built on Asterisk, that runs in the cloud or on the organisation's own premises. Desk phones, softphones and mobile clients register to it in the usual way.

How does it know who is calling?

It is a module of the Zone platform, so an inbound number is matched to the customer record before the call is answered, and the record opens on screen. Outbound calls are placed from the record with one click.

Are calls recorded?

Yes, where the organisation enables it. Recordings and the call history are filed against the contact and the deal, alongside messages and documents.

Can Phone replace an existing PBX?

Yes. It can take over an existing SIP trunk and number range, or run alongside a current system during a transition.
